Perform quality control on all new websites just prior to launch. Director of Social Media through June 2010. Created promotions for partners and clients utilizing SEO and Social Media Marketing techniques. Previously was Project Manager for  eWinery Solutions’ Wine Syndication program selling wine and wine clubs for 3rd party retailers and affinity groups, such as iGourmet, James Beard Foundation, and Lufthansa Airlines. Wrote the wine and food column “Personal Wine Advisor.”

Wine Educator: Provided staff training and public education in the sensory evaluation of wine, winery history, and winemaking and vineyard practices. Offered tours and wine tasting to wine industry personnel and to the public. Hosted wine industry tastings as backup to the Parker family. Posted receipts, ran reports, counted and closed registers at end of day when requested.

Morrell & Company Wine Emporium 1 Rockefeller Plaza, New York NY 10020

Webmaster for www.morrellwine.com: Developed Morrell’s web strategy, highlighting wine education as well as ecommerce. Created the website in partnership with web host Evocative, Inc. (Berkeley, CA). This new website, when launched, immediately produced sales in excess of 30% over the previous site. Increased customer loyalty by providing excellent customer service and support, including wine recommendations, replacements, and problem resolution.  Reported directly to the CEO.

Drove the development of two wine clubs: the Italian Wine club run in partnership with La Cucina Italiana Magazine, and the V Foundation Wine Club, a joint venture with the V Foundation, a charitable organization based in North Carolina. Coordinated the setup and operation of the Morrell eBay store in 2002. Assisted the hospitality manager with many wine events, fairs and festivals, both public and private. Sponsors of these events included Bon Appetit Magazine Wine Fair, Deutsche Bank, CD101.9 Jazz Radio, Roundabout Theater, and Portfolio Tastings, all in New York. Provided freelance support for the Morrellwine.com website from California after my move from the East Coast in 2004.

Offered recommendations, suggestions and wine and food pairings to in-store customers based on their preferred styles and budget. Made purchasing decisions based on tastings, price-points and salability of offered items. Wrote tasting notes for the catalogs and the weekly email newsletter.
